Case history of patients successfully treated for Depression and anxiety in our clinic

Patient 1

Patient A, a female, suffered from depression and chronic fatigue for the past two years. She also complained of loss of appetite and joint pains in her wrists and fingers. The depression started after her second child was diagnosed with autism. She felt inadequate in raising her children and suffered a lot of guilt. She felt incapable of helping him, which made her restless and impatient. She realized her behavior affected her child, hence she felt she was making the problem worse. She had no interest in going out but did not like being indoors either. She had no interest in cooking or doing chores. She felt sleepy during the day and night, but even after sleeping for many hours, she felt unrefreshed. She felt better when she listened to spiritual music or when she was helpful to others in her church. She felt scared and anxious if her husband went out of town for work. She constantly feared for her kids and had to know where they were every minute of the day. She generally felt better if her house was clean, but she had a hard time keeping it that way.

Ms. A’s brother was killed when he was 13 years old in a street fight, and her mother struggled with that loss for many years. Ms. A was afraid she would lose her child and felt she wouldn’t be able to live after that. She had dreams of satanic powers trying to tear her family apart.

After hearing the patient’s history, it became clear that the themes of family and security were recurring issues. A remedy to help her let go of her worries was prescribed along with counseling. The patient responded very well to treatment and took up a part-time job to feel better about herself. Her emotional health improved along with her joint pains. Within two months, the patient reported that her joint pains were non-existent. Her energy levels had improved, and the sadness only affected her at night intermittently. She was also advised to eat a well-balanced diet and start an exercise regimen. She continued to report improvement with treatment, and her depression and joint pains did not return. She was followed up for six months, after which she was asked to wean herself off the remedy. The patient reported that her symptoms did not return.

Patient 2

A young girl, 19 years old, was brought to us by her mother because she was severely depressed, anxious, and suicidal. Her mother, also a patient at our clinic, could not bear to see her daughter live a joyless life. The girl expressed that life was pointless and she wished it would end. She complained that her life was full of troubles and that every day was a burden. She had no appetite, slept for no more than a couple of hours each night, had no energy to do anything, and was visibly sad. Initially, she did not want to discuss her troubles. However, after talking to her for more than an hour, she began to open up and revealed that her complaints started after she broke up with her boyfriend.

After analyzing her case history, she was prescribed a homeopathic remedy specifically suited to her basic nature and current complaints. She returned two months later to report that her life had improved significantly and that her troubles no longer bothered her. Her mother reported that she had started singing and dancing around the house. The patient had taken up a modeling job and had become a tattoo artist. She was happy and joyful, started eating well, sleeping well, and had a lot of energy. It was one of those rewarding moments that reminded us why we do our job.

Patient 3

A 23-year-old female was brought to our clinic by her parents due to severe anxiety. At the time of her arrival, she was experiencing an anxiety attack. The patient began having anxiety attacks after her boyfriend left her one morning without any warning, taking all his belongings. Since then, her anxiety attacks would start upon waking and could last for hours or even the entire day, accompanied by vomiting, diarrhea, and an inability to talk or function. She appeared very emaciated and pale, with no energy to speak during the consultation. During her attacks, she couldn’t eat or sleep and felt suicidal. She lived in constant fear and felt the need to please everyone around her. Any criticism made her feel unloved, increasing the frequency of her anxiety attacks. She found some relief from her attacks through consolation and sleep, but she remained lethargic and unable to work, which impacted her career as an artist.

The patient had no appetite, no sense of thirst, was chronically constipated, and always felt sleepy and lethargic. She feared losing her current boyfriend and her father, with whom she was very close. She felt secure around her father and found happiness during their camping trips. Although she lived in a different state, talking to her father on the phone calmed her down. She had attempted suicide by slitting her wrists and ingesting poison, expressing that she found no joy in living and felt like a burden to everyone around her.

She was prescribed a herbal remedy tailored to her symptoms and history. Within a month, she showed dramatic improvement, with the frequency of her anxiety attacks reduced to 10 per month compared to almost daily attacks before treatment. She also reported a significant decrease in vomiting and diarrhea associated with the attacks, occurring only three times in those 10 attacks. Her appetite improved, though it was not yet where she wanted it to be, and her bowel movements were becoming regular. Despite still sleeping a lot, she was no longer always sad and experienced moments of happiness. For the first time in many years, she felt hopeful about her recovery.

The patient was followed up for nine months, during which she experienced almost no anxiety attacks for the last two months. She looked healthier, had a good appetite, started painting again, and was exploring ways to promote her work. She also became more assertive, demanding respect and not allowing herself to be treated like a doormat. She felt calm and confident.

"I had depression and anxiety for many years after my husband's death and I was on prescriptions, but didn't feel well overall. I wanted to find an alternative medical doctor and went to this clinic. The doctor surpassed all my expectations with the care she showed to me and the passion with which she treated me. The doctor even personally called me a week after my first consultation to see how I was doing and If I had any questions for her. I don't write reviews for anything/anybody in general, but this is an exceptional doctor and I had to write this. I wish many more doctors really cared about their patients."

"I consulted with Dr. Sridharan when I came to visit my family in Vegas. I had suffered from anxiety and depression for many years and had severe vomitting and diarrhea everyday from anxiety. I was losing weight and had no energy to do anything. Dr. Sridharan was very caring and patient. She helped me understand my problems and suggested small changes to my diet and also gave me a homeopatic remedy. I followed up with her every month by phone and she was always available to me when I had questions or concerns. She helped me through the months every step of the way and I stopped having anxiety and panic attacks in 2 months time. The feeling of constant restlessness and fatigue had become unnoticeable. I started working on my paintings again and even went out to have my own stall at the local market. I can't thank the doctor enough for her help. My life has blossomed once again and I have found happiness and joy without being drugged."

"My experience with Dr. Sowmya was a great one, I was having problems with stress, anxiety and a form of panic attacks. The natural medicine that she had me take helped me control the anxiety, stress & panic attacks rating from a 10 to a 2. I’m living my life better and in my work I feel more efficient. I control my emotions like never before by separating what’s reality and what isn’t."
